Canterbury Avenue is a small site tucked away in the St Johns Road / Witchford Road area of the city. There are about a dozen small plots, ideal for anyone new to allotmenteering or uncertain about committing to a large plot on another site. The land was originally laid out as a children's play area serving the housing developments but this fell into disrepair before being converted to allotments by the City of Ely council.  In common with all the town sites the soil has a clay content as this is on the original Isle of Ely. Mains water is installed, limited parking on adjacent street.
